  5. +1

Oh, and for anyone not familiar with The Onion, it is very firmly tongue-in-cheek. Just before anyone goes off on a rant or anything...
  6. That is absolutely idiotic....
Any halfwit that actually studied the word of God(even people that don't!), would know that God gave us all the choice of who we want to be, what we want to do, how we behave, what characteristics we have, and so on...

This woman is an absolute moron, to say the absolute least!
  7. ^^ read the post above yours, it was there 6 hours before...
  8. Do we get to choose whether God chooses us to be saved or not?
  9. Oh dear, a simple joke turns into a religious argument...turn around touch the group baggs not in this one!
  10. It is time for the whining nancys to bring on the outrage again, where would we be without them? Oh that’s right enjoying ourselves.
  11. If you read that piece and didn't understand it was a critique of the anti-gay religious movement, then you need to choose to study a bit of English and reading comprehension.

It was a very clever piece, and the real message became blatantly obvious as you read through it.
  12. Yes, I posted this as a response to the 'God (Westbro Baptist Church) Hates Australia' thread posted a few weeks back.
  13. I liked this bit...

It's actually pretty astonishing how many complaints to the school board you can make regarding the new band teacher you've never met when you are filled with the Light of Christ and devoid of any real kindness or mercy toward His other children.

Anyone that couldn't see it as satire (especially when it's from The Onion) has some sort of comprhension problem. :-s
  14. I dunno guys, I find more and more it's hard to tell the difference between a parody of religion and the religious themselves. Westbro baptists for instance.

But that's the onion's trick really: it mushes in just enough truth for it to sound plausible. When it comes to religion there's really no upper bound on how insane beliefs or hypocritical the statements coming out of their mouths can get.
e.g. even on here we have people who are young earth literal creationists by the sounds of it.
Abstinence programmes and campaigning against girls getting HPV/cervical cancer vaccines because it might have them thinking about sex.
Girls in the US who think they're preserving their virginity by having anal sex.
People saying to Kill tv producers who broadcast immoral tv: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7613575.stm
    etc etc

Religion wraps up a whole bunch o' crazy..
  15. This is why I love the onion.

    Hook, line and sinker...
  16. Not enough boobs in this thread
  17. Gawd, and there I was thinking that the Letter D really had pulled its sponsorship from Sesame Street 8-[
  18. +1.....0000000

enough for minimum message size yet?
  19. I love boobs!!! Boobs rock!!!
