How to take off throttle stack off a 2005 VTR250?

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' at netrider.net.au started by adisankhiyan, Feb 3, 2016.

  1. Hey guys,
After a crash which bent my VTR's handlebars, I decided to get a new handlebars with lower rise, I'm halfway through, took off the clutch side, easy, and now I'm stuck at the throttle side. Can anybody help me out and take me through what I need to do please.

  2. Loosen the top and bottom nuts on the left side of the bike which attach to the carbs (middle of the frame, two cables running through a screwed on bracket), and adjust their position to suit the new bar height/length. A bit of trial and error and fiddling around is always the case with throttle cables. You want just enough slack so that on full right lock, the cable isn't tight enough to increase the revs noticeably.
