Honda VT750 (Shadow or Aero in the States?)

Discussion in 'Cruisers' started by martych, Jan 16, 2008.

  1. Hi again all. As you can see from my previous post, I'm a newbie to the cruiser world, having just picked up an '06 VT750.

Even though I love the look of my bike in standard form, I do want to get a 'solo rack' as in this picture....however, I've gone on to a couple of US sites (such as Custom Cruiser and Direct something or other) and they seem to differentiate between the 'Shadow' and the 'Aero'.

My bike obviously has 'Shadow' on the tank, but my understanding was that the same bike in the States is called the 'Aero'. I Googled some images which didn't help as they all looked the same.

Can anybody throw some light on this for me please ? Also, is there somewhere in Oz that I should look for this part, as I've never bought anything from overseas via the net and am a bit nervous about it.

  2. Hi,

Can't answer about the VT750 issue..

I would look for a US forum specialising in you bike - there are so many more cruisers in the US and they all seem to have their own forums.... I am a member of several.

But overseas ordering has worked well for me - the prices are much lower.. and the exchange rate is excellent. Just have to wait a week or so for the parts.

Lots of forums overseas have complaints about poor service from Cruisercustomising.com - but having said that I just bought a screen delivered to my door for $240.00 AUD that I could not find in Australia for under $495.

These people get a good report and I have order a couple of things from them. http://store.valueaccessories.net/

    Happy modding :)
  3. i believe the Shadow Ace has the 'fat' front wheel/tyre.
and the Shadow Aero has the 'thin' chopper style front wheel/tyre.

have a hunt on ebay for some online stores...plenty of em.
and a great seppo site (USA) with heaps of bike specific info is... www.hondashadow.net

  4. Wow, thanks for that. It's been bookmarked and I'm sure it will come in very handy.
