Honda NT650

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' at netrider.net.au started by titum, Jun 21, 2008.

  1. I am considering buying an NT650 from a friend of mine and am curious if anyone know if they are learner legal in NSW?

Is "BROS" in the LAMS list referring to the 650 version or just the NT400?

I am going to ring the RTA next week to find out for sure, but just wanted to see if anyone here knew.
  2. I don't think so.
The LAMS limit it 150kW per tonne.
By my calculations (that sounds so pompous ), a 1993 NT650 is 160kW per tonne.

The later NT650v Deauville looks like the only one on the LAMS list because its so much heavier.

The NT400 Bros fits the LAMS criteria however.
  3. The NT650 Bros or Hawk is LAMS in NSW...

At least it was when I asked the RTA last year

Shit I should have bought that bike...
  4. But the 650 Revere, which is basically the Bros sold here with a slightly less stupid name, is on the LAMs list.
You sure you remembered to add rider weight and use the wet weight of the bike in your calculations?
  5. The Revere is heavier, steel frame, shaft drive etc...
