Honda CBR250R 1989 Engines

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' at netrider.net.au started by coglata, Jan 11, 2012.

  1. hey

i was wondering where i could pick up an engine for a honda cbr250r 1989 (mc19) from in NSW?

    New or Reco?

  2. I'd start hitting up the wreckers, dont be affraid to go interstate.. As long as the wrecker is reputable..
  3. you won't pick up a new engine, they stopped building them in '91
most mechanics don't like them because of their age. a reco is really something you'd have to do yourself, if you DID find a mechanic to do it, the cost would blow out to more than you'd get for selling once it's finished
  4. Check the wreckers, also check the written-off bike sales for repairable or written off bikes that have the engine intact.

You could also look online at cheap CBR250R's as the preponderance of LAMS bikes has seen values drop anyway.

    Cheers - boingk
