HID Lights ... anyone use them?

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by Haplo, Dec 17, 2007.

  1. Has anyone installed aftermarket HID Xenon's into their bike? Is it worth it?

    Something like http://www.xenonoz.com.au/
  2. One of the guys on a M109 I ride with has done this, and loves the night beam it sheds.
It does make the low beam harder to see in the daytime though.
  3. The downsides - they make the bike unroadworthy, you introduce potentially lethal voltages to the bike, they can emit dangerous levels of UV light if damaged, will blind oncoming traffic if not properly adjusted or if the front wheel lifts and they're expensive.

The upside - they produce a much brighter light for the same amount of power.
  4. I know dozens of 'Bird owners who have done them, some low beam only some both.
I have not heard any complaints, and the 'bird has a fantastic light from factory, but these are simply see to believe.
  5. Depends if u really need them,

if it increases your night visibility alot, then go for it.
