Hex Head Fairing Bolt Issue

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' at netrider.net.au started by josh_182, Dec 20, 2008.

  1. Hey guys, bit odf an odd one, just replacing the front fairing on my CBR250RR as it was cracked from an off, I have one bolt left in on the side that it went over on and all the head is scraped down on it and I can't get allen key in to removing it, any suggestions on how to remove the bolt, it goes straight into the internal thread on the bikes framing.

  2. Dremel and cut a nice straight line through the head so you can get a flat head screw driver on it.

or, drill a hole in the bolt and either try an easy out (they never are easy) or tap a thread, insert a bolt with a nut on it, tighten nut down and then undo bolt.
should come out but try the dremel first incase the bolt doesnt work
  3. Visegrips are great for this.
