help zzr 250 having issues

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by jfizzle, Nov 25, 2007.

  1. Hi All,

Yesterday after about 90km ride when on the home stretch i started to have issues. In all gears once i get to about 7 grand i lose all power and bike accelerates very slowly. I can feel the engin tryin to pull but it just doesnt convert to wheel power. It also makes an awful sound. this contiues as it struggles till about 11000 then power pick up again.

    Any thoughts.

I got hte bike to those revs in neutral and no issues. check all things i know how. ie oil fuel coolant.

can any one help? has anyone had a similar issue?

  2. sounds like your either having a lean problem or you've dropped a plug.

Replace the plugs and see if it gets better. Have a good look at the plugs when they come out.

Look at their colour and their gap.

If the problem is there after you replace the plugs then there could be a number of things causing it to run lean.

Have you made any recent changes or is the bike a recent acquisition?
