Help with my 79 Suzuki Fr80

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by VelcroGloves, Nov 23, 2015.

  1. Hi I have a Suzuki fr80 moped that I'm restoring but I'm stuck......
(Carbys been cleaned and transmission oil flushed several times due to being sludgy crap)

When bike is on centre stand and running i can put it through all its gears
(centrifugal clutch) no problems but as soon as the back wheel make contact with the ground, put it in gear, it stalls??

idling is quite low also, I can roll it down the road put it in gear and ride but changing gears it jumps through and when coming to a stop its stalls??

Any ideas/help anyone haha (clutch problem maybe?)
  2. Seems very likely, that's what I'd be going with.
The springs probably too loose, and not holding the friction pads when they have some resistance against them.
