Help an old man remember

  1. Hey guys, in the early '70s, i think, there was a bike called the x5 or 7 it was either made by suzuki or yamaha. does anyone know of this bike and did anyone ever own one?

    Checked http://www.bikepics.com/suzuki/gt250/ and found a couple of GT250's from that era but not sure if they're the "X7" you speak of ..

    The GT250 "Stinger" was from that era also ...

    Will continue searching ...

It was Suzuki's follow-up to the very successful Hustler 250 road bike model and was very successful in 250cc production bike racing (yes, they raced stock-standard 250s in those days, at most every race meetings, including Bathurst! John Blackburn, who was affectionately known as Jumbo Jet, because of his 747 number plate, was one of the bike's great exponents).

    Unfortunately racing success did not always translate to sales success, and the Yamaha RD-series bikes were always the better sellers.....
