  1. Hi All,
Just after some advice re: helmet damage!
My brand new AGV helmet fell from seat height the other day straight onto its head.
Has a bit of a chip on top now.
I've been advised previously that this type of drop renders the helmet useless.
Unsure if i should write off that $380 and buy a new one, or that's a bit melodramatic.
Any ideas would be really appreciated!!

  2. You've been advised wrongly, or, at least, over conservatively. Unless your head or some similarly heavy object is inside the helmet at the time of the impact, minor drops like this will not usually functionally damage a helmet.

If the chip that you mention is just paint/surface finish and isn't a deep gouge or an obvious crack in the shell (unlikely from seat height), it's likely to be fine to use.
  3. yeah a helmet needs a head or 5 pounds in it to be damaged....

now you know why we dont put our lids on our seats lol
  4. And dont sit it on the ground either, It gets spiders and ants and other creepy crawly's inside them,
  5. if you do a search all your answers will be revealed.
This has come up umpteen times.
