Heavy Duty Tubes?

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by Davi5678, Feb 1, 2009.

  1. Picked up a nail this morning and resulted in a flat tyre. Curses!
Is there any advantage to heavy duty tubes or are they just as prone to that sort of puncture?
    Any disadvantages?

  2. If you're gunna get a nail in your tyre, it doesn't matter a rats arse what sort of tube you have in.
I would not run them (HD tubes) for road riding. A lot of extra weight and heat build up for no good reason. Only place where they have any use is when you're running low pressure off road where they are alledgedly better at avoiding pinch flats. I've tried them off road and still get flats from foreign objects so I don't bother with them any more.
  3. so basically the same deal as on the pushi then, cool, cheers!
