Heat proof Lacquer?? (Clear)

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' started by AhrimaaN, Apr 16, 2009.

  1. So I'm going to get a new exhaust, and it already comes lacquered as it is mild steel, but am wondering is there anything else I can do to stop it rusting, short of painting it with a black heat proof paint?

A clear solution would be best, to even perhaps go straight over the lacquer already on it. I want it clear as the exhaust looks ace with the welding on it and you can see it quite easily even under the fairings.

I've heard they still rust as stock (but in the mild british weather so maybe not as likely here?) so that's why I'm looking to further protect the chamber.

The slip-on will be titanium so no worries there.
