Hardwick leather pants

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' started by Zoolander, Dec 19, 2007.

  1. Does anyone have any comments or experience with Hardwick leather pants?

I am looking at getting a pair of leather pants for commuting to work.

Hardwick have two that I have been considering... The first is their 'Touring style' that cost $159 which can been found at the address below. They state they are waterproof, come with hip and knee armor and are made from 1.2mm cow hide.

(I could not post the direct link as I do not have enough posts)

They also have another style costing $199 that have knee sliders in addition to the hip and knee armor and are made from 1.3mm cow hide.

I am new to the bike scene, so I am just guessing that the knee sliders are just used for racing? Is there much point to having them for commuting purposes? They are stuck on with velcro so I could just pull them off if I wanted the thicker pants.

Any comments about Hardwick leather pants would be appreciated.
