GT250R and the highways

Discussion in 'Bike Reviews, Questions and Suggestions' started by harrier, Aug 5, 2006.

  1. Newbie kinda question.

I ride to work on my GT250R along a highway. I'd say I average 115kmh for around 30mins. Is this too much for a 250 to handle? If not, at what speed/revs is it dangerous to maintain?
  2. As long as you aint holdin it over the redline then it shouldnt be doing any harm, but with the high amount of km's you obviously ride then things will start to wear out quicker....
  3. I used to hold my single cylindar SR250 at that sort of speed for an hour and a half going to and from ballarat...
O.K. so it was slower going there because it was all up hill and the bike wouldn't go that fast.
  4. That speed should be no problem at all for your modern 250. Just keep it regularly serviced, and it will be fine.
  5. It should be ok provided you avoid the redline. Regular service will help.
