GSX250F weird clutch

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by Banga, Jun 24, 2009.

  1. Hi all,

Hope i posted in the right section for starters.
Anyways i looked at buying a Suzuki gsx250f and took it for a ride.

Now the clutch was extremely weird (at least so i thought).
It did not engage right untill i released the lever about 90% of the way.

Wondering if this is normal and maybe just needs an adjustment or could the problem be bigger?

  2. My old bike was alot like that.
Just got used to it. Don't think theres really any issue.
  3. Cheers Geeth,

I was thinking that there could be something a bit fishy lol.
  4. clutches are different in all bikes. generally if they engage 90% out, it means you can pull in a lil bit click in gear and release faster. and its all set by the freeplay of the clutch cable and the clutch itself. the free play is aprox. 15-25mm i thinks
  5. You can turn the adjuster wheel on the lever to modify the slack and friction point.

I prefer the friction point to be less than halfway. Just as long as the clutch is disengaged when you pull the lever in, thats fine.
  6. Thanks for the reply guys,
I thought something might have been up for a second.
I agree with u gsxxr, ideally i thought thats how it was supposed to be.
Thats y wen i 1st rode the bike i thought hey thats funny.

Anyways gave the guy an offer, hopefully he accepts n i can get the bike!
