GS500 discontinued in UK

Discussion in 'Bike Reviews, Questions and Suggestions' started by TLA, Nov 9, 2006.

  1. Here is another topic to add to the recent spate of GS500 posts.

I noticed that the GS500 is no longer shown in the UK Suzuki site. A thread on www.gs500e.co.uk mentioned that the GS500 will be discontinued in the UK and eventually Europe, due to tougher emissions standards.

Anyone know how the emissions standards here compare to that in Europe, and how it will affect the future availability of the GS500.
  2. I hope not, there a nice bike, and ive been saving for one :(
  3. Australian regs are nowhere near as strict as Europe - and neither are those in the US. Guess it'll be US sales that determine whether the GS stays in production or not.
  4. Maybe they wil finally update the head to make the gsx500.

Hope so, because this is one of motorcycles classic engines and it'd good to see it keep going.
  5. Thats all right... I've got mine.. Stiff S][1t to every one else! lol
Na, That kinda sux... perfect little bike for many people.
