GOR - Christmas Day

Discussion in 'Roads, Touring, Journeys, and Travel' started by RustyO, Dec 24, 2010.

  1. Seeing as I have nothing better to do on Christmas day.... thinking about going for a spin down to see the apostles.

Figure this as my basic route (Melbourne > Geelong > Lorne > Apollo Bay > Port Campbell) so a fairly standard route, and about 500/600km return?

Figure fuel/food stops in Geelong, Apollo Bay and Port Campbell, and vice versa on the way back.

Main concern is petrol I guess and actually being able to see the apostles when I get down there...

Any comments on facilites along the way? (Don't want to be stuck with out any fuel)
  2. apostles and fuel will be fine.... just watch out for the tourists and drive safely...
  3. As firetiger said mate - be careful on the GOR - tourists will be out in mass numbers !
    Have a great day (y)
  4. All good, not a bad ride when you can avoid the cars and tourists.... :p

Ended up being a 12 hour round tip, with plenty of detours on the way.
