Goldwing tyre on a sportsbike?

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by Coopz, Jun 1, 2008.

  1. Sounds dumb but my dad has given me a spare Dunlop 180/70r16 from his GL1800 that he never used. Now I ride a 1999 Honda CBR1000F with a Bridgestone 170/60 rear (standard 5.5inch rim) I use a slightly more narrow tyre to make the heavy bikes handling a bit lighter. I was just wondering if its possible to put the Dunlop on instead? (the Bridgestone is getting a bit worn).

    Any help welcome:)

  2. It's a dunlop. Death by burnout is too good for it.
  3. I've had no issues with Dunlop in the past tho.. only Metzeler
  4. the 70 profile over the 60 might be abit too much. it will gear your final drive up abit too.
  5. If I am reading this correctly -you might be going to try & fit a 16 inch tyre onto a 17 inch rim. Not a good thing in my opinion :)
  6. Yes Common sense has kickied in.
