Give SW Vic & GOR a miss this weekend

  1. The Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic is on this Saturday (27th) starting in Point Cook and ending (obviously) in Warrnambool so you can expect the Freeway to Geelong & Highway from Geelong to Warrnambool to be pretty ugly on Saturday.

I also notice they have several bicycle rides for the public which will be using the Great Ocean Road from Warrnambool to Apollo Bay on Sunday (28th).

    You've been warned.......

  2. I just looked up the events web site and checked the route to be taken.

The Main Race on Saturday starts at Sanctuary Lakes and heads to Werribee via the Point Cook RAAF Base, it then heads out towards the You Yangs and dodges around Geelong and doesn't hit the Highway until well past Colac.

In other words the Freeway should be OK but those of you in Werribee will be affected for a few minutes (they should still be bunched up at that early stage).
