Has anyone had any experience riding the Gibb River Rd in May/June
I haven't ridden it but drove it. I was there April/May a few years back. Main issue is track closures. We were lucky and found all tracks as we got to them had only been open less than a week. Because it was early in the season the roads were freshly graded.
But really comes down to how wet the wet season has been which dictates when tracks can be grade, repaired and prepared for opening.
I have also driven it in May, most rivers well down and easily to cross, as above not long after all the tracks had opened post wet season.
Road was decent for the most part, some bits have quite chunky rocks, some have more loose material, most were good.
