getting a new transmission or new gearing?

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' started by spongesam, Mar 23, 2007.

  1. I'm looking at getting my new steed in the next couple of months.
I"m looking at a few different bikes, all cruisers.
    All shaft driven.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has had a new transmission fitted to a cruiser, how much it was, and just any other feedback.
Can gears be changed like sprockets get changed?

My main reasons for asking are, that I'm looking for a bit more mileage.

    What are peoples EXPERIENCES?
  2. The final drive ratios can't be changed.

You could perhaps fit a different profile tyre or carry a jerry can...
