Gearbox/clutch issues

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by JETLEE, Oct 3, 2005.

  1. Hi Guys
    i got an 89 zxr250.
After doing a burnout i discovered i can no longer click the gearbox into neutral.
When stationary i cannot click it up or down to the green!
When riding i can occasionally get to neutral with the slightest pressure.
Its getting a little hard on my forearm muscles when i am at the lights

    Lesson learned..........
  2. Sounds like the clutch might not be fully disengaging. Put it on the centrestand in first, and turn the back wheel, with the clutch pulled all the way in. Is there any resistance from the gearbox? If yes, try adjusting the slack on the clutch lever. Of course it could be a dozen other things too, but that's a start.
  3. no worries, i will check that out tonight
if i get of the bike and use my hand i can find neutral after abit of mucking around
i just hope the fix isnt too expensive
