fzr fuel pump, is one needed

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by defyu, Mar 17, 2008.

  1. hi all

i have a 90model 3ln fzr250, the bike should have a fuel pump on it but dosent have one fitted, apparently the importers pull them out for some reason. is it worth fitting a low pressure fuel pump such as this one from facet
    PRO 06SV

    2.75 - 4 PSI / 36 GPH / 136 LPH

  2. If it ain't broke....
  3. Mine has a fuel pump. If yours runs ok without one then it should be ok. I only hear mine before start up when you turn the switch from Off to Run. Not sure if it runs after the start up? :?:
  4. it seems to lean out up the top end of the rev range, not hugely noticeable. power come onto the plug for the pump on start up then dies and picks back when you give it throttle.

any specs of the factory pump is appreciated, or what roughly flow rate and pressure these and similar 250;s run

  5. If you are not having a fuel pressure problem, then leave it alone.
  6. no worries cheers for the replys.

    speed safe
