FZ6R lams sprocket change

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by icestorm, Sep 30, 2010.

  1. Has anyone had a sprocket change on the fz6r lams bike?
I tried to get my dealer to put a -1 up front but they are claiming that the fz6r lams isnt using the 520 chain.
Can anyone else confirm or deny this?

  2. The pitch will be written on the side of your chain.

You can see what I am in the full size of this pic

  3. Excuse my ignorance but what has the chain pitch size got anything to do with fitting a smaller front sprocket?
  4. Yep its 520 has it written on it thanks, i guess they either ordered the part for the wrong chain size or flat out didn't want to do it
  5. I had a look through my catalogues and they all have no listing for the LAMS version of the bike and it is a 520 fittment. The none LAMS bike runs a 525. Looks like the only option might be to fit genuine Yamaha parts.
