Fuel consumption for Yamaha XVS650A?

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by Matt Van Schaik, Mar 11, 2016.

  1. Have just taken delivery of the above motor cycle and was wondering what would be the fuel comsumption I could expect.

Took it from the dealers yard to home and was impressed with balance and performance. Not in motor cycling for speed anymore, just comfort and stability..

  2. Mine is stock standard, I get about 240K's then go onto reserve with about another 50K's before I have to push it. Works out to be about 5.5L/100K's. Using different octane fuel makes little difference as the 650 does not have a computerized induction or ignition system to account for the differences. I generally use 95 octane as it is more likely not to have ethanol. A lot of the 91 does even though it is not necessarily labeled E10.
