Footpath Parking

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by dan, Mar 22, 2005.

  1. As early results on the "Most valued rights" poll indicate, the one perk motorcyclists love the most is Footpath Parking.

Living in QLD, we have have no footpath parking rights. I know several people in the CBD here who pay the same amount to use a private carpark as car users just so they can park their bikes somwhere.

I tried to pull up onto the footpath near my local supermarket, but a security gaurd told me I couldn't citing "er, there's probably legal and safety implications...". I remember the same situation in a Melbourne shopping centre where a security gaurd almost booked me for parking in a car spot and not on the footpath!

Footpath parking (when done sensibly of course) is the one perk I miss the most... <sigh>
