  1. Retro 'Roo - (James Strong) VH-XZP
    Boeing 737-800 series

This aircraft is the 75th and final (of current orders) Boeing 737-800 delivered to QANTAS.

Painted in retro livery depicting the infamous "Flying Kangaroo" which was present on the Boeing 707 and early 747 Jumbo between 1971 and 1984 before a redesign saw the 'roo lose it's wings.

The aircraft is named "James Strong" after the late former QANTAS CEO who was well known for his colourful bow ties.

Seen here departing Sydney Kingsford Smith Intl Airport on runway 16L bound for Mount Isa via Brisbane.
    Qantas Retro Roo.

  2. Nice. Interesting how we all think of the flying red kangaroo, and all the while the kangaroo has been white.
  3. As well as the bow ties, he did have quite a few VERY flash motorbikes, and a really cute wife, who also rode some interesting motorcycles.
