Fix TV flickering?

Discussion in 'The Pub' started by Kernel, Jun 17, 2011.

  1. G'day guys,
Got an old CRT TV that keeps flickering, making my viewing experience less enjoyable.
Anybody know any way to fix the flickering?
Or I might just buy myself a small flatscreen...

  2. There was a gag by Richard Prior or Bill Cosby or someone, where he takes on the real evangelical fire and brimstone preachers, and talks about the ultimate power - hallelujah - the power of comedy. What you do is stand up, walk over to the tv, kneel down, take the back off it, reach in and grab a handful of wires. It'll rock you - it'll sock you - the power of comedy will reach right out to you and throw you clean across the room. ... Somebody's bound to get a laugh out of it.
  3. Thanks Kneedragon, I tried that and it fixed the problem!
    No seriously, you're not funny.
  4. it wasn't his joke, and he stated that. lighten up, man.
  5. Okay.
  6. Give it the rock star treatment and get with the times
  7. What exactly is that now?

In the 70's it was chuck it out the window

In the 90's it was "pop a cap in it's arse"

Now I think it is slip it a roofie and try to root it but I am not sure.
  8. ... I'm not ... funny? Aw, shit! Forty eight years I've been honing my self ridicule and circular mockery, and now I find it was all wasted?
