First long ride

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' started by RussellDP, Oct 11, 2015.

  1. Just got home safely from my first long ride, feeling fairly tired but pleased as I pushed a couple of boundaries and learned a few things from the experience.

Rode from Shepparton to Seymour via Nagambie where I met my brother on his V star. Pie and coffee at Nagambie, then onto Seymour and surrounds.

Bit hairy the first wet ride (at the start ) and learned how slippery a road surface can be, particularly white lines.

Ran the bike up to 110 for the first time too. Crosswinds made that a little entertaining, learning to lay flatter over the tank to take pressure off the shoulders as well.

All in all a good ride, only issue I had was my top box coming open and nearly losing my jacket liner as a result.

Now its time to kick back and chill for a bit.

  2. Always good to hear of people's riding steps. You will be doing the Alpine runs soon without any issue. :)
