*Thanks to Dave for the heads up

Unfortunately we have another fire bug on our hands. In the past week, over 2 dozen fires have been deliberately lit in the Erica/Walhalla/Moondarra areas, and also locally (yesterday one was lit behind the secondary school).

With the unseasonably warm weather and low rainfalls, our firefighting plans will have to be implemented a lot earlier than expected. (CFA can help themselves to our dam water, but leave the pool alone  )

Anyone planning to ride these areas just be aware of the extra hazards on the roads and stay safe.

  2. Hope everything's under control soon cruisingal.....fires AND the firebugs.

    Take care.
  4. there's been a few fires over here in SA too over the last few days

    hope everyone stays safe.
  5. Another update, the b*stard mongrels have lit another one 1.5km from here and a house has been lost :( . A dozen units and chopper fighting to keep it contained, but strong winds and lots of bush making it hard for them.

God help the low life when we get hold of them
  7. We would hope not. Show no mercy to these bastards.
  8. So far 75 CFA and DSE crew, 3 tankers, 15 pigs, 4 bulldozers and a helicopter...

Looks like its going to be a busy summer. It'd be loads easier without the d^&%heads going and lighting them as well!

If you're heading that way, be careful and keep out of the way - there's going to be lots of traffic around.

CruisinGal - I hope you've got a plan, specially for this summer!

  9. These fires have been deliberately lit

Yep, same as last time: bikes moved to mates places (big job but we have about 5 less to move this time  ), then kids, animals and us are outta here!

We live in an 80 year old two-storey cedar home that has lots of timber and I am not willing to try and fight fire if we are unders threat (and are adequately insured).
