  1. just drilled the endplate - 8 x 1/2 inch holes in eash pipe.

    Makes a huge difference.

Will remove the baffles in a week or two.

    small steps
  2. i did the same to my Honda Shadow to the standard pipe.

it was about 2 weeks later that i purchased my V&H slash cuts online from the USofA

happy i lashed out on em..top value too
  3. And today, I removed the baffles from the exhaust!.

Not louder, but Much much throatier.
  4. How incremental are the differences in the number of holes drilled eg.4 holes, 6 holes, 8 holes and debaffle. And is the difference much at idle as opposed to acceleration.
  5. I believe thats a week to the day...
  6. didnt measure 4 holes, 8holes etc - just jumped in at the deep end.

Others on M109riders.com have tried the analytical approach, and they all hated the 4 holes, or 8 smaller holes sound. There is a video clip up there with sounds after just holes, first baffle removed, second baffle removed etc.

Interestingly enough, when I first rode the bike, it had a stumble at 3000 rpm. After about 20klms, it was gone, and has not reappeared again.
Maybe the ecu has some low level adjustment/calibration cappabilities after all. On the 109, there are separate o2 sensors in each exhaust.
