Engine casing marks

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' at netrider.net.au started by thisisjoe, Oct 6, 2015.

  1. Hello,

I was cleaning my CB400 and noticed what looked like flaking paint on the engine case. I hit it with some 0000 steel wool and it looks like it had been scraped at some point and someone tried to paint over the scratches to hide them. I tried to get the added paint off with the steel wool, this revealed some black marks.

I'm not sure if I've rubbed too hard and stripped the engine paint or what has happened, I've attached a photo. If someone could tell me how to remove those marks, or if I should get that part of the case painted, that would be great.

By the way, that's just some metal polish dripping out there.
