Ebay Postage Costs

Discussion in 'The Pub' at netrider.net.au started by L0Ki, Dec 12, 2008.

  1. Whats the go with AUSPOST postage charges?

Reason i ask is I'll see people selling similar items offering postage for $12 when i work it its $24 to perth so are they loosing out there or is it just me not knowing how it all works.

Its got to do with that cubic rule bulls**t. Because the box is 60x42x8 it supposively weighs 6 killos or something. Do the post offices actually bother applying this rule or just charge you per kilo?

Anyone who's had experience with this please help me out.

I'm thinking i could loose up to 12$ if someone buys it from Perth.
  2. Our company has a business account with AP and we use eParcel to send all over Australia. The charges are cheaper I believe, even with the volume / dimension rules that AP require us to use, compared to regular AP postage efforts.
  3. They sure do.

They will measure any large box and calculate postage that way.

Just use the online postage calculator on the AP site.

If buyers are doubtfull, give them the dimaenions of teh box and ask them to check it out themselves.

Other sellers may be in a different location, hence the difference in price.
