Dust cap gone... rust

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by aimre, Feb 2, 2009.

  1.

Damn noticed my dust cap on my fork was cracked. Lifted it a bit, and its orange. There some rust in there. Though it looks like some surface rust only... i hope

How should i go about fixing this?? Just replace dust cap? Fork oil too? Take it to the shop??

    Ill take a pic tomorrow
  2. There is a metal spring in the seal and a metal circlip. With any luck it'll be one of these that is rusted.
