Durability of Matt paint?

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by bugeater, Sep 11, 2006.

  1. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with motorbikes painted with matt paint.

Reason I'm asking is that there are a few Matt Black CBR1100XX's around which look okay, but I'm wondering just how well the paint would wear. I don't want to pick up a bike to find it ages really fast or I accidentally polish a shiny patch on it or something
For that reason I'm looking more for the other colours (like Metallic Black). I suppose the matt black would be cheaper to respray though... :-k

  2. i have matte black on parts of my bike. i wax the matte parts and they seem to be fine.

shouldnt be any real issues, although it does get dirty fast.
  3. just make sure......
the neighbourhood kids don't use it as a blackboard
