dry cleaning leathers?

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' started by The_Doctor, Dec 10, 2007.

  1. Is it possible to dry clean a riding jacket?

My mate has leant me his but it stinks and everytime I wear it I ended up stinking as well, not cool when you work in an office.

If it can't be dry cleaned, what's the process of cleaning it? any special products for this scenario?

  2. Yes, it is. I took mine to Brown Gauge. It came back a week later looking clean and nice but it still ponged, just this time it ponged of dry cleaning chemicals.
  3. Thanks for asking the question I've been wondering about for ages!

I've got a green / white Kawasaki jacket that's looking filthy. I just can't get the white clean. I've thought about dry cleaning but didn't know if it was safe for bike jackets.
  4. Just adding that I meant "leather" cleaning chemicals not "dry cleaning" as the lady at the counter said that they send them offsite to some place that handles their leather jobs.

    It's a bit exy though like $60-something.
