Draining Fuel Bowl/Carby

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by noobie_rider, Jun 14, 2006.

  1. Hey guys,

I have a CBR250 and was wondering ... is draining the fuel bowl the same as draining the caburator?

If not, when would you drain the fuel bowl and when would you drain the carby?

Does anyone have pics of draining either fuel bowl or carby.

  2. there is a small drain screw at the bottom of each of the 4 carbis. usually they will be drained at services to remove any water and impurities from the bowls. yes the bowls are part of the carbis.
  3. Here's a pickie showing the drain plug. Yours may have a screw as well but I would reccomend pulling the plug as well. All sorts of interesting foreigners can be found here. The plug is just below arrow 2 in the first photo.
