Dopod, Mio & HP inbuilt GPS phones - reviews please

Discussion in 'The Pub' at netrider.net.au started by Toecutter, Mar 26, 2007.

  1. Anyone got one? What are your thoughts?

I know Mouth has the Dopod so hope he can chime in.

Have been waiting for the Nokia N95 which just seems to never be getting here, so now looking at alternatives for a new PDA phone with inbuilt GPS.

    Thanks in advance
  2. Dopod is pretty good.

MW6 is just around the corner and there is a whisper about the 838pro having its GPS chip enabled with the release of the new ROM at the end of this week.

    Looking forward to that ;)
  3. i have used the mio sat nav for a few years and i have contacts from the supplier. there is some new mio products being launched after easter so there will probably be a price drop. i have updated 12 months ago to the mio c510 it is not a phone but is bluetooth enabled and is about $600
    might be a cheaper alternative
  4. The Mio A701 doesn't have Wi-Fi so it's off the shortlist

Thanks Vic - but the 838 is the same size as my iMate, so looks like the slimmer P800W. Whilst I've enjoyed the keyboard, I find it easier to just make a call rather than type an SMS or email reply.
