DIY seat repair

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by chrome, Jun 23, 2009.

  1. Heyas,

My bike's seat has some holes in it. I'd like to replace the cover, maybe put some new foam in there to make it more comfy. I found this site, which has a lot of good information on how to do it:

Does anyone know where I could get the materials needed? He talks about using Marine Vinyl, which makes sense as it'd need to resist the elements. I doubt spotlight has this stuff :)

  2. Great find on the site.

A boat shop should have the required marine vinyl - if not they should at least know where to get it.
  3. +1 boat shop.

um clarke rubber? they might have something to suit
  4. i just re-covered my seat with vinyl i got at spotlight.

I can't be sure it's not absorbing water but it's fine for the moment.
