Dirt/Offroad Training

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' started by SPC, Jul 20, 2007.

  1. Hey Folks,

Been riding on the road for about 5 years now, but have never been on the dirt. Does anyone know of any courses that are offered (similar to HART or somthing) that teach the fundamentals of dirt bike riding? Im in Victoria.

The only one ive found so far is a horribly overpriced BMW effort.
  2. HART does a few dirt courses.
  3. The best way is get a cheap dirt bike and hit the trails, riding on dirt you will fcuk up heaps but the bike never gets damaged (well 75% of the time) and if it does it is cheap to fix.

The best way to learn is go riding and find someone to go with you that doesnt mind going easy but will push you when needed. I know personally there were a few obstacles that i though "nah fcuk thats way to hard/dangerous" but after watching a mate do it and knowing thats your only way home you manage which makes you a better rider! And if that obstacle really is to hard you always have your mate to get your bike past while you walk/climb over the object

Anyway have fun and hit the trails champ and dont get bothered by a few offs it part of dirt riding
