delaminating tyre

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' at netrider.net.au started by Prawns, Dec 13, 2005.

  1. Anybody had a tyre do this before? I was about to go for a ride, walked my bike out of the shed and noticed the front was "bumping" so I had a gander at the front tyre - woah big egg sized bump on it and its really soft and barely making it under the mudguard. Now Im too scared to ride it anywhere to get a new tyre fitted.

I'm thinking of tying a rope to the triple clamps and hanging the bike from a overhead beam at work, and just letting it hang so I can remove the front tyre and take the whole rim by car to the nearest bike shop which is about 20clicks away - anybody got any other ideas on how to lift the front of a r6 safely with no race stands?

Bugger thing is, I just bought a rear tyre - shoulda got the front first I guess :x
