Melbourne's original and traditional Toy Run, in its 36th year, will be held on Dec 8th.

    Support the Salvos!

Help spread some cheer. Dress up your bike in tinsel. Get into the xmas spirit!

The run will end up at Calder park where there will be an afternoon of events.

When you're done, you're not far from some good riding roads...

  2. Melbourne gets 2 toy runs.

One real one, this one, and a Protest come Toy run the week before.

    Not quite, just to clarify...

The Queensland toy run is the one that has linked the protest and toy runs together.

But you're right that Melbourne has two toy runs. The official and traditional Salvo's backed toyrun as advertised above... and an alternate run being held on the same day - which in the interests of being factual, is supporting the Father Bob Charity.

The national protest rally on Dec 1st is unrelated. Let's not contaminate the message in this thread.
  4. I was just being an arse, feel free to delete my post.
  5. I will probably head up from Cranbourne on the big run this year.
    Unless there are better plans?
  6. Why am I not surprised 2 motorcycle groups couldn't co-ordinate and communicate together and have one toy run. No, they have to have 2. FFS.
  7. Good point that.

The Traditional toyrun has been in planning for most of the year.

IRG and VSRA's toyrun was only planned in more recent times. Motives for the alternative toy run are unclear.

Negotiations with at least VSRA to get them to align with the traditional Toyrun fell over - although there was some kind of agreement from them to recommend their riders head off to Calder park after wards. We will see.
  8. Ah, now I'm beginning to understand. Cogdognuts (or whatever his name is) is up to his old tricks hey, and the VSRA are silly enough to follow him.

Rob, I'm sorry mate, but while that bloke and his IRG are around I fear you will achieve very little. 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

I suppose Cogdognuts does deserve a high five, in the face, with a brick.
  9. See you all again this year at the Port Melbourne departure point.

  10. Sorry guys I am out 2 handed race to shake the boat down for Launceston race at Christmas.

    Have a good one.

    Cheers Jeremy
  11. Righteo. We are less than a week away time to get organised. See you all down in cranbourne with bells on :)
  12. Hi Kat,

There's been some scuttlebutt that the Ulysses part of the Cranbourne feeder ride may be "stolen" from heading to the traditional toy run supporting the Salvo's and redirected to the IRG's toy run.

    Keep ya peepers peeled.
  13. Really?
    That is BS....

How are we meant to know?
  14. Ask the ride leader where the feeder is going.
  15. I gotta wait for the day?
  16. Unless you have a feeder run flier and feel like contacting the organiser.
  17. Actually I think there is a mobile number on the website for the organiser.

    Will text them.
  18. Upon re-reading this. Do you mean that just the ulyssys will go to IRG run, but the police escort and everyone else is still going to salvos?
  19. in the FAQ "I ride a scooter. Can I attend?
Of course, turn up on one wheel, two wheels, three or more and help motorcyclists show they support the Salvos and the community."

That's a funny way of saying NO
  20. BAHAHA.
