Cuil search engine / Code Monkey

Discussion in 'The Pub' started by Morbo28, Jul 29, 2008.

  1. Have you tried the Cuil search engine (pron. "cool")?

The way they present the results is way better, but the relevance is not as good as Google yet IMO. Maybe this will improve the more people use it.

But searching for "Vicroads" was good. But "Vicroads LAMS" did not find relevant results (unlike Google). Similarly "Psychology registration board victoria" points to the correct place in Google but just to a bunch of unis in Cuil.

I really hope the relevance improves because the interface and categories on the RHS are awesome as are the tabs up the top. We'll see how it goes...

Oh and while we are talking all things Geek - have you watched Code Monkey? It's a comedy show presented in arcade game style graphics. Lots of nerd jokes - including Apple's 'Woz'. It's not bad.
  2. Uh yeah... it's ahh... awesome.
  3. LOL yeah I got that too. These things only ever get one chance to change opinions, otherwise people don't try them again...they might have just fcuked their chances
  4. "These things don't have a chance against google" fullstop.
  5. a lot of sites it refers to are actual hijacked search sites for spammers
It's useless as a search engine imho.
