My excuse....tired from a days riding, dark. Reality.....shite skills. Was at homebush this afternoon coming home. There were plenty of cars leaving the telstra stadium after a game. The left lane was ending and all were merging into right lane. No cars were moving at all so i was slowly splitting up between and because the lanes were merging i soon started to slowly run out of space but desperate to get home kept splitting. Then for first time ever my right handlebar clipped a mirror pushing it forwards! Shite! Stop, push it back, sorry to driver, she didn't mind was smiling and waving back, then sudden intense pain from left toes! Large multiwheeler on left started to move over my toes!! and slowly. Somehow save bike from tipping over and going under the truck wheel!!! which potentially could have dragged me under the massive wheel! Anyhow quick recovery, i'm in the clear, i get the hell outta there!! Massive pain from toes which i can't feel. 15min later i'm home.......scared that i might take off my boots and see jam where my toes used to be. Anyhow, nuffin. Just some minor bruising. I take boot and try to squeeze the toe section and it is damn hard. Had it not been for the boots i'm sure i woulda had some broken toes and front part of foot. I am bloody grateful for that. Anyhow, toes are getting feeling back, still very sore. I'm actually still scared shiteless as i'm thinking about how i could've ended up under that trucks wheel. So much so that i'm considering calling it quits. It was that friggin close and quick. Thing is i normally am very conservative with splitting and generally would never have put myself in that position. But i lapsed concentration and that was enough. Anyway boys, just wear your boots!
