  1. G'day All.

Looking for some crashbar advice. I want to fit one to the SR500, along with some cheap understated lever guards (http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-686782.html), so that, should I drop the bike when I ride on unsealed roads, which increasingly make up a part of my rides, I'm less likely to dent the tank or bars or misalign the forks. I've found this bar, which is minimal and will fit onto the bike no worries, but I'm a bit worried about getting it rigid enough on my single downtube, such that it won't twist around and bang against the engine, breaking fins or whatever. Anybody know anything about these or want to hazard some thoughts on my speculations?....

  2. Does your tank even touch down as is?
  3. I have a set of crash bars on the Hornet. I bought them from Renntec http://www.renntec.co.uk/ in the U.K. and they have saved me many hundreds of dollars in repair costs.
  4. Good point - I haven't actually checked that.

I should have included the other option, which could be fettled to be more stable (but I worry about mounting it to the engine mounts and then twsiting those mounts in an accident):
