Crank case breather mod

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by mattb, Dec 11, 2008.

  1. I'm chucking my air-filter as the piece of bent tin and garden hose which holds it in place keeps coming loose - mustn't be OEM! Am fitting a K&N. So I have to do something about the crank case breather. Being the simple-loving tight-arse I am, I thought that rather than go for a little pod-filter etc etc, I'd just get some appropriate hosing and run it back a distance to under the seat. At most, put a stocking over the end. I reckon this should do the job, as it's expelling, not sucking, but what say others?

  2. It's best to do more than that. The Crankcase does breathe both ways, as your pistons go up and down.
  3. The mini-pod filter is perfect for the job. It is what I use.
