Corrosion prevention on alloy rims

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' at netrider.net.au started by scott983, Dec 16, 2008.

Hey everyone, I've been doing up an old bike and I need a product to protect the edges of my alloy rims from corrosion.

The centres of the rims will be painted with enamel paint so it needs to be safe to go over enamel.

Ive been thinking about just spraying a two pack clear straight onto the alloy but I'm not sure it will stick to bare alloy.

Does anyone know where I could get a suitable product for this purpose???

    Cheers
    Scott

  2. you can pickup touchup clear paint from shops like auto barn or other car shops. If you want a larger can some places will mix it and put it in a can for around $30. 1 of those cans should do a wheel.

The touchup clear can is small and would be fine for smaller areas.
