Compliance Plate (match with engine and chassis number)

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by superg, Sep 17, 2012.

  1. Hi I want to buy a bike that hasnt been registered before. I was wondering who i can email a compliance plate number to, to see what the corresponding engine and chassis number it matches with to see if this bike im getting can be registered, thanks.

  2. Umm, perhaps the police or local (state) road authority.

As it has a 'compliance plate', I can only assume that it complies to ADRs.
Although it may be a write off, & as the insurence company paid out the owner who binned it, they wont take lightly to anyone getting it back onto the road.

Just another reason why insurence is evil, I reckon.
