Clutch Question

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by stigger, Aug 29, 2010.

  1. I've found some play in me clutch and I'm trying to work out how it's held together...

I've got play between the cog and fingers of part one below (When I hold the fingers and turn them left and right on the spindle the fingers move about a tooth before the cog does...)

  2. where is the question
  3. First line how are the 2 bits held together as there appears to be a lot of play.
  4. Sounds normal, unless it's a lot of slack... I think those springs inside the cog take up some of the brunt when the clutch engages...

    I think.
  5. Agree with MV, looks like the springs are there to absorb shock, therefore there would be some play. You need someone in the know, or a workshop manual to figure how much play is normal, but from what you describe it sounds OK to me.

    But I'm not a mechanic.
